BayonetWarfare rarely disposes of the tried and true methods, and while some may consider a bayonet antiquated-- or even barbaric --it has saved the lives of countless front line soldiers for hundreds of years. If a bayonet has been mounted to the front of a rifle, it can be use much like a spear, allowing you to threaten squares or make opportunity attacks within your reach even if the weapon was used to make a ranged attack on your last turn. In order to make a successful melee attack, a rifle with a bayonet must be used in both hands, and cannot be use while a collapsible stock is retracted. Detaching a bayonet from a rifle allows it to be used as a standard knife; it deals more damage while mounted due to the added force provided by the weight of the rifle.
