Code Cylinder

In the wireless age of data and information, one of the most effective methods of security is air gapping. Often high-ranking officials will carry encrypted security keys that are built off of Holo-State Drives that contain a series of hardcoded security protocols that identify the user. Code Cylinders access data systems through a universal digital port to allow access to locked data systems, restricted facilities, or in order to override security protocols.

Code Cylinders are considered storage devices with a hostile attitude? and Intelligence 10, with a Will Defense of 15. Improving access to someone else's Code Cylinder can be risky; a Use Computer check that fails by 5 or more causes the Code Cylinder's internal systems to overwrite themselves and reduce the cylinder to little more than a shaft of high-grade polymers and alloys.
