Flash Suppressor/Silencer

When manufactured for external attachment, it is often a cylindrical attachment that mounts over the muzzle of pistols or lighter rifles. More modern models are often built in and reduce the profile of the weapon. A flash suppressor/silencer imposes a -10 penalty to Perception checks to discern the sound or spot the flash of an equipped firearm. However, it also reduces the maximum range of the weapon by two range increments. External models are easy to remove and transfer from one weapon to another, and can be removed with a DC10 Mechanics check. Internal models cannot be removed, but they grant a +5 Equipment Bonus on Stealth checks made to conceal the weapon.
