Framework Afterburner

Similar to the science behind early Rocket-based exploration, expending excess fuel by powering a direct thruster can be used for a sudden burst of flight speed. Only useful to Frameworks with existing flight systems in place, the Afterburner doubles Flight Speed for 1 round per activation. This boost can be very jarring to even the more durable systems built into a Framework; once activated make a 1d20+5 Attack against the Frameworks Fortitude Defense. A successful attack disables the Afterburner, and deals 1d8 x Size Mod in structural damage. The disabled Afterburner can be repaired with a DC20 Mechanics check and a number of hours also equal to the Size Mod of the Framework.

Powering the Afterburner requires a number of Fuel Cores equal to the Size Mod. Each Fuel Core costs 100Cr and weighs 10kgs, but must be installed manually prior to use with a DC10 Mechanics check for each individual core.
