Targeting ScopeA targeting scope is a sighting device that makes it easier to hit distant targets. However, it affords a very limited field of view, making it difficult to use. Installing a targeting scope on a rifle or pistol requires a DC 10 mechanics check. Standard: The most basic models of targeting scopes reduce the Range by one step ( Long becomes Medium, Medium becomes Short, and Short becomes part of the Point Blank range ), but in order to gain this benefit the marksman must use the Aim Action to specify their target. This benefit is lost if you change targets, or lose line of sight to the target. Enhanced Low-Light: Like the less advanced models, a low-light targeting scope also reduces the Range by one step, but it also allows the wielder to ignore concealment ( but not total concealment ) from darkness when attacking the designated target. Multi-Optic Sight: The paragon of modern sensor technology, multi-optic sights use a mounted optic device equipped with multiple sensor systems that assist with low-light, thermal measurements, and a modified density detection system. In addition to reducing the Range like less advanced scopes with an Aim Action, the collected data is transmitted to a visual interface connected to a pair of goggles worn by the user via reinforced fiber optic cable, allowing the user to ignore the effects of concealment due to darkness, smoke, or other environmental conditions that obstruct vision.
