Tool Kit

Standard equipment required by every handyman since the invention of general contractors, Tool Kits have had many looks over the ages, possibly most famously as a long red box with a flip-open top. The typical kit contains the basic set of tools needed to dismantle or reassemble just about anything a person might need to given enough time, and while every tech and mechanic's kit is individual and personalized over years of use, it is almost guaranteed that you will find the items listed here.

  • Arc calibrator: Testing circuitry or provides power to small devices, or shorting them
  • Arc leads: Connects to a calibrator for troubleshooting, bypassing damaged components
  • Grav-bar: Amplifies leverage and forces objects open
  • Safety glasses: Prevents damage from using the plasma torch
  • Plasma torch: Separates or welds metal joints and plates
  • Pulse rods: Solders leads and wires without heat or burning
  • Pulse cutters: Simple clipping tools
  • Unidriver sets: Can tighten or loosen all manner of fasteners, screws, bolts, or nuts
  • Random hardware: Fasteners, circuitry, connector wire, solder, and flux
Mechanic's Weapons
Tool Damage [Type]
Arc leads 1d8[Energy(Ion)]
Grav-bar 1d8[Bludgeoning]
Plasma torch 2d6[Energy]
Pulse rod 1d8[Piercing]

Tool Kits are required to modify, reprogram, or repair Tinkers, armor, weapons, and sensitive devices, though other parts or materials may be needed as well ( a Tinker also requires a diagnostic system, datapad, or computer, and raw components equal to 1d4*25Cr if suffering from an attack that passed their Damage Threshold ). The tools can also be used as makeshift Simple Melee Weapons with a -5 Equipment Penalty to Attack Rolls. See the table to the right for damage values and types.

Weight: 1kg
Base Cost: 250Cr
Availability: --
Size: Medium
Special: When using the Integrated Equipment modification, a slot can be used for two individual tools. Tinkers with integrated tools do not suffer the -5 Equipment Penalty when making an attack with them.
